I am not sure if anybody even still reads my blog, which is fine. I thought I'd post more frequently on blogger for awhile since there seems to be tooooo much drama on FB and I'm not sure if I'm ready to delete the people creating that drama or to just take a break, so taking a break I am :)
In May I celebrated the big 3-0. Nothing really changed except I left the 20's. My mom had planned on coming down with my nephew and neice and when they got here they surprised me with my Aunt. A great surprise and we had a great weekend!
In June I drove myself to the ER and was hospitalized for a few days. I woke up on a Saturday after sleeping downstairs with Jax and went to take him outside. From the staircase to the patio door, which is only about 10 feet, at that, I was out of breath. I wasn't sure if it was just because it was so muggy or just waking up and being so muggy out so I didn't think a whole lot of it. I went upstairs to shower and thought I was going to die by the time I made it to the top of the stairs. I was scared as heck by that time. I went and laid down in my bed and after a few minutes I seemed to be fine. I laid there for awhile, nothing changed but I was still worried. I decided if I was going to have to do the Dr I needed a shower. From my bed to the bathroom I was in tears, I couldn't breathe. I took a quick shower, threw on some clothes and got in the car. On the way there I called my parents and told them they might want to pack their bags and head down... oh and I also combed my hair :) I got to the ER and told them I was having a hard time breathing but no chest pains. The nurse comes out with a wheel chair and says "I understand you're having chest pains"... wth? Did I come to the right hospital? I quickly explained it wasn't chest pains. My oxygen was really low so they quickly put me on oxygen and put an iv in. The problem: blood clots in my lungs. The culprit: birth control. I was released on Monday from the hostpial with restricted orders to stay home until the doc gave the green light to go back. I also had to give myself shots daily...oi-vey. Do ya'll know how much I hate needles? Surprisingly it wasn't that bad. It burned for a few seconds once the needle came out but it was such a small needle. So far, I'm back at work (after a full week off) and taking oral meds once a day. I was having to go once a week to have my INR (blood level) taken but as of two weeks ago I'm down to every two weeks.
July... nothing real exciting. Full force of getting ready for the 2010 Susan G Komen Kansas City Race for the Cure. Jax and I stayed home for the 4th - he was scared of the fireworks. Poor guy! I did go back to Iowa for a week and it was great being able to spend time with family and friends, never long enough!
August... started off with my BFF coming down for the weekend. Loved having her here and wish we could see each other more often. The following weeeknd was the Race and man was it HOT. But, it went very well and I'm ready for 2011! We had our post-race celebration a few weeks later, it was good to see everyone out of their Komen gear and being able to relax!
September has brought some major life changes and I hoping for a job change. I am ready for the challenge in both my personal and professional life!
I think thats all for now... I'm going to do a separate post with some pics since blogger always messes up a post if I add pictures after I write.

machine
This time of the year is supposed to be fun, right? Being outside, windows cracked or open, people walking outside... so where is all of that? My heat is still running, the windows are closed and I don't see people walking. Spring fever kicked in awhile ago and I'm still waiting on the day I can shut the heat off and open some windows! All of the snow from last Saturday has melted and today its been raining all morning, the poor ground is full of water!
I swear this entire post won't be crabby.... I am officially a sneezing, snotting-machine. I am beyond tired of being sick this winter season - my first season in at least 3 years to be sick this many times. Woke up this past Thursday with a sore throat, Dr gave me a script for sinus infection and ear infection yesterday. Good times!
I was supposed to be in Des Moines this weekend watching my 9 year nephew wrestle...he made it to state! Super proud and happy for him. Wish I could be there cheering him on, spending time with my niece and Momma too.
Looks like the sun might be trying to peek out, woot! Think I'm going to try to take a quick nap then get Jax outside for a bit!

rough day
to say today wasn't that easy is an understatement. I now understand why something was telling me to stay home this morning. But, I can't always take the easy way out and that definitely would have been the easy way out.
Mother Nature teased us last week with 60s and sunny and then yesterday with 70s and sunny. Today it was gloomy, rainy and in the low 50s. So of course some people's mood changes because of the weather. The day was going okay until this afternoon when I was accused of something that not only hurt the friendship but has burned a bridge.
I've been praying since I left work and will continue until I can actually fall asleep.
Thank goodness tomorrow is a day off!

new tricks
Jax's new trick is chasing his tail in circles, often times running into furniture... the island, the ottoman, his kennel, the couch... poor guy. He keeps on going though. I took some pictures and video, I'll have to upload them soon.
Today was awesome, I love it when some people are out of the office. The day flew, there was no drama and everyone was happy.
Saturday we got probably 6-8 inches of snow, today it was 58 degrees. Most of the snow is gone and the green grass is peaking back through.
Today is day 2 of my 30-day prayer request. He will provide, as always.

the last 7 months
- August 2009 - I experienced and volutneered with one of the most amazing foundations in my life. Something that has forever changed me. Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in KC was a huge success. There were over 25K people at Union Station that day. I got a bad taste in my mouth from the committee chair, but remembered why we were all there and decided to volunteer again.
Jax at my parents summer 2009- September 2009 - I don't remember much from this month other than going back to Iowa over Labor Day. It was a good trip and Jax did really well in the ride back.
- October 2009 - I met who I thought was the man of my dreams, the love of my life. We spent as much time as we could together given our distance over the next few months. Halloween was uneventful, stayed home and kept Jax inside :)
Jax growing... fall 2009- November 2009 - Thanksgiving! I was able to make it back to Iowa to spend time with family. We changed our tradition and had Thanksgiving at my brothers. I think we almost had more dogs than people. My SIL's Dad brought their 4 month old yellow lab, my brother had his almost 10 year old yellow lab plus their 3 new puppies and then Jax. The pups all had fun playing! I was able to spend a night in Cedar Rapids and see some friends...
Rylee cheesin ... Owen givin kisses to his Mama.
- Dec 2009 - Christmas! It came and went as quickly as it always does. Once again I was able to spend time with family but also able to spend a bit more time with friends in Cedar Rapids. I came back to KC to so much snow I couldn't even get in my driveway or into my garage. New Years Eve was spent back in KC, Jax and I rang it in together.
- January 2010 - Another month gone.
- February 2010 - My work team won a contest that landed us with $2500. We rented a party bus to drive us around the city and had separate hotel rooms waiting for us at the end of the night. It was so much fun!
I know I've left a lot out and there are a lot of pictures missing, but I have to start somewhere!

So far behind
It would take me probably a good week to try and catch up on what has been going on over the last 7 months. I'm sure though that if anybody still reads this I'd bore them to sleep and I really don't have that kind of time on my hands.
So for now I'll leave a few pics and hopefully later today I can try and highlight some things that has happened.
Jax playing with Kasey at my parents.
